A study for induced electromotive force by RF high frequency with ITO film thicknesses and the front curves of Ophthalmic lenses

Abstract
Purpose: This paper was to make 13.56 MHz RF high frequency apparatus and study the measurement for the thicknesses of ITO films of Ophthalmic lenses by measuring the induced e.m.f. on receive coil with the thicknesses of ITO films and the front curves of Ophthalmic lenses.

Methods: Hard coatings on Ophthalmic lenses were produced, and an electron beam evaporator was used to produce multi-coatings on hard coatings, which were consisted of SiO2/ZrO2/SiO2/ ZrO2/SiO2/ITO/SiO2/water-repellent coating. In ITO coating, ion beam assisted gun was used. Transmittance meter was used to determine the transmittances of Ophthalmic lenses. RF high frequency apparatus was made using 13.56 MHz crystal oscillation device and the reduction of the e.m.f. induced on receive coil was measured according to the thicknesses and the front curves of
Ophthalmic lenses by this apparatus.

Results: The transmittance with the thicknesses of ITO films for the Ophthalmic lenses by the transmittance meter was measured. The result obtained was that the transmittances in the visible region was initially increased a little and then tended to decrease later. It was known that the reduction of the induced e.m.f. on receive coil was increased with the thicknesses of ITO films for the front curves of Ophthalmic lenses for the lens placing on the send-receive coil. It was also
known that the reduction of the induced e.m.f. on receive coil for the lens placing on send-receive coil was greater than for the lens placing in send-receive coil.

Conclusions: RF high frequency apparatus was made and the reduction of induced e.m.f. on receive coil with the thicknesses of ITO films and the front curves of Ophthalmic lenses was obtained using that apparatus. As a result, it was known that the reduction of the induced e.m.f. on receive coil for the lens placing on send-receive coil was increased with the thicknesess of ITO films and the decrease of front curvatures of Ophthalmic leness.
